What do I need to charge my vehicle at home?

  1. Once you submit your EV charger Installation Form, the certified installation engineer will contact you to arrange a free home inspection.
  2. During the visit, the installation engineer will inspect your home’s available power and discuss your overall home charging setup.
  3. Based on the inspection, you will be provided a quote, and if accepted you can schedule your installation. Simultaneously, you can check with your landlord or property management for any approvals that may be required.
  4. On the day of installation, the certified charger installer will provide you with a brief charging demonstration/training.

As part of your vehicle onboarding process, your local dealer will help you complete the EV charger Installation form with an easy to scan QR code. You can also access the form here.

Does the installation process differ if I live in an apartment instead of a villa?

Whether you live in an apartment or a villa, you will need to check with your property management and/or landlord to obtain the necessary approvals before installing a charger. At Chevrolet, the same process and form applies for both.

How do I find someone to install a home charging station for me?

Chevrolet partners with certified EV charging installers to make home charging simple and hassle free. Upon purchasing your EV, your local dealer will connect you with your local certified installer who will discuss and align on your home charger installation and usage.

What type of charger will I receive with my Chevrolet EV?

A standard 7kW home charging wallbox will be provided with your Chevrolet EV, along with a Type 2 to Type 2 charging cable, which can also be used at public charging stations.

What happens if I am not contacted by the installer after submitting my EV installation form?

If you have not been contacted by the installer within 72 hours of submitting your form, you can contact your local dealer representative to follow up on your request.

How can I optimize my home charging?

The Chevrolet Equinox EV allows you to schedule your home charging cycles through the vehicle charging app and the myChevrolet mobile app. Hence, allowing for optimized charging at home.

What is the best spot to install my charger at home?
